Kelmar Creations Announces Agreement with Cereplast for
Exclusive Use of Patented Bioresins to Produce Horticulture Products
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – July 14, 2008 – Kelmar Creations announced today that it has entered into an exclusive agreement with Cereplast, Inc. (OTCBB: CERP) for use of its patented bio-based resins. Under the agreement, Kelmar will utilize the bioresins to produce and distribute
its new line of Ecotainable® plastic containers and packs through its partner network and maintain exclusive rights for marketing to the horticulture market. The bioresins, which are made from wheat, tapioca, potato starches, and corn, provide an ecologically sound substitute for petroleum-based plastics.
Manufactured with all bioresin materials, the Ecotainable® plastic container line is fully sustainable and renewable and marks a major break-through towards providing green, environmentally friendly and economically viable products for the nursery industry. Ecotainable products are completely compatible with existing automated equipment that currently process oil based plastic containers. The product line includes Ecotainers® and Ecopacks® in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors using bioresin based color concentrates, and can be custom-imprinted per customer requirements. All Ecotainable® products will meet the new federal procurement guidelines for bio-based content enacted by the United States Department of Agriculture.
Currently, distribution of the Ecotainable® product line is being handled through T&R Company (Rancho Cucamonga, California, www.trlcompany.com) and Summit Plastic Company (Tallmadge, Ohio, www.summitplastic.com).
