Kelmar Creations Introduces Ecotainable® Line of
Fully Renewable and Sustainable Bioresin Containers for Nursery Industry
Renewable
Container RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. – July 8, 2008 – Kelmar
Creations has introduced the Ecotainable® line of grower containers,
packs and trays. Made from all bioresin materials, the new line is fully
sustainable and renewable and marks a major break-through towards providing
green, environmentally friendly and economically viable products for the
nursery industry. In conjunction with the announcement, Kelmar has named
Summit Plastic Company (Tallmadge, Ohio) and T&R Company (Rancho Cucamonga,
California) as key partners for manufacturing and distribution, and has
also appointed Rick Baldini as President of Kelmar Creations.
Ecotainable® products are completely compatible with existing automated
equipment that currently process oil based plastic containers. The new line
includes Ecotainers® and Ecopacks® in a variety of sizes, shapes and
colors, and can be custom-imprinted per customer requirements. These products
are made from renewable resins that are ecologically sound substitutes for petroleum-based
plastic products. Resins are starch-based, made from wheat, tapioca, potato
starches, and corn, and meet the new federal procurement guidelines for bio-based
content enacted by the United States Department of Agriculture. Pricing is also
cost-competitive with traditional plastic greenhouse products.
Phil Guardia, founder and CEO of Kelmar Creations says, “our goal is
to be at the
forefront for producing environmentally responsible and economically
viable products that maximize sustainability. The Ecotainable® line meets
these goals and provides the cutting-edge green technology needed for the nursery
industry while at the same time meeting increasing consumer demand for green,
economical products.”
Kelmar Creations President Rick Baldini commented, “I am very excited
to be part of Kelmar Creations especially with the new sustainable bio-resin
technology that is at the core of the Ecotainable® product line. The company
truly embraces the “green” triple bottom line concept of measuring
success in terms of environmental, social, and economic impact.”
